The people of the Jura are the polar opposite of the rest of France. That’s right! While winemakers in France and Navarre fight against oxidation, those in the Jura actually embrace it. But what a delight these highly unconventional wines are. With Jura wines, there’s no middle ground-you either love them or you don’t. The uniqueness of these wines makes them fabulous-and all too often underappreciated-exceptions. From oxidative whites to light reds suited to these clay-rich terroirs.

I mustn’t forget the Jura Chardonnays, which so often during my tastings lead me to mistake them for Burgundies-after all, isn’t it said: “Burgundy, Franche-Comté”?
